Speaking on a show, Amir stated, “By next year, I will have the opportunity to play in the IPL, and if given the chance, why not? I will play in the IPL.”
Amir’s inclination toward RCB stems from his cordial relationship with Virat Kohli, who has been the face of the franchise since its inception. Amir recalled Kohli's generosity when the Indian batter gifted him a bat, an act that left him deeply touched.

"Virat is a great player who admires talent. I have always been a fan of his batting, and he has appreciated my bowling. I even played some good knocks with the bat he gifted me," Amir reminisced.

On the same show, former Pakistan batter Ahmed Shehzad voiced his support for Amir’s potential IPL stint, suggesting that the pacer could be the solution to RCB’s long-standing bowling issues.
"RCB needs a bowler like Amir to fix their bowling woes. Their batting lineup has always been strong, but their bowling has been the weak link. If Amir joins RCB, they will finally win the title," Shehzad remarked.
