After Bangladesh's triumphant 2-0 series win against Pakistan the biggest question looming is whether Chandika Hathurusingha will retain his job.

Much of this speculation stems from Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) new president, Faruque Ahmed, who made it clear that he personally did not favor Hathurusingha as the head coach.

Since taking over as BCB president, he has maintained this stance. Rumors circulated that the Sri Lankan coach might lose his job before Bangladesh's upcoming tour of India.

However, for now, Hathurusingha remains in his position. If all goes according to plan, Bangladesh will head to India for a two-Test and three-T20I series under his guidance.

After returning to Dhaka with the team following the series win, Hathurusingha took a break and is expected to return to Bangladesh on September 11. He will join the camp on September 12, ahead of the team's departure for Chennai. BCB director Nazmul Abedeen Fahim confirmed to the media, saying, "The head coach will come, he will be here (in Mirpur)."

Meanwhile, white-ball cricketers have been training at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur for several days, preparing for the India tour.

Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto has also resumed training after returning from Pakistan. The Test squad will begin training on September 8, with full-fledged practice sessions involving the entire team starting on September 9.

"There might be a voluntary practice session on the 8th, but the full team practice is set to begin on the 9th. The weather may pose some challenges, but we'll do our best to prepare effectively."

When asked if Bangladesh would have adequate practice facilities in India, similar to those in Pakistan, Abedeen responded, "It won't be the same because each country is different, and there will be differences. But we will try to make the most of what we have and replicate the conditions as closely as possible."
