Following their disappointing exit in the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup, Bangladesh's cricketers are busy with franchise cricket leagues.
Shakib Al Hasan is playing in the Major League Cricket (MLC) in the United States, while Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Towhid Hridoy, and Mustafizur Rahman were participating in the Lanka Premier League (LPL). These four players have now returned to Bangladesh after the conclusion of the LPL.
Shakib remains in the United States, with a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) source indicating that he will play in the MLC until June 26. Following this, he will head to Canada to participate in the Global T20 Canada, with permission to play in franchise leagues until August 12.
Two other Bangladeshi cricketers, Rishad Hossain and Mohammad Saifuddin, were also scheduled to play in the Global T20 Canada. However, they have been unable to travel to Canada due to visa complications, and it remains uncertain when they will be able to join.
Meanwhile, the four cricketers who returned from the LPL—Shoriful, Taskin, Mustafiz, and Hridoy—have not joined the ongoing training camp of the Bangladesh national cricket team in Chattogram. They are expected to join the training session starting on August 3 in Dhaka.
