Central and South Zone to lock horns in BCL final

The match between Central Zone and South Zone ended as a draw that propelled both teams to reach the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) final.

Centuries from Amite Hasan, Towhid Hridoy and Zakir Hasan helped South Zone to score 494 taking a 13-run lead in reply to Central Zone’s 481.

Central Zone made 99 for the loss of four wickets in the second innings, Soumya Sarkar was the highest run-getter, who scored 43 off 77 deliveries.

Rishad Hossain, took a couple of wickets for South Zone, the leg-spinner took 5 for 129 his 34.5 overs in the first innings.

Earlier, Hridoy top-scored with 122 off 155 balls with 13 fours and 4 sixes. Hridoy added 201 runs for the third wicket with Amite, who made 117 with 17 fours. Amite had earlier added 108 for the second wicket with opener Pinak Ghosh, who played a knock of 74 runs.

Left-hand batter Zakir smashed 109 off 185 balls, hammering nine fours and two sixes in his knock. He was the last man out on 494 in 158.3 overs.

With this draw, Central Zone will lock horns against South Zone in the final on January 2.
