Cricketers don’t want to resume individual training

Bangladesh national team cricketers are still not ready to start individual training after the rising number of coronavirus cases reported in the country during the last one month.
Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim and other cricketers have earlier requested BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury to allow them to start doing individual training in all the stadiums of the country.
The Board had taken all the necessary preparations for the players to resume training and also given them some guidelines to follow but nobody has shown any keen interest due to the rising number of the coronavirus diseases in the country on the stroke of the last one month.
All the leading national and local players named majorly Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah Riyad, Abdur Razzak, Imrul Kayes, Tushar Imran, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Enamul Haque Junior, Jahurul Islam Omee took part in a video meeting, organized by Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB).
BCB director Khaled Mahmud Sujon was also present in the meeting, where the incumbent CWAB president Naimur Rahman Durjoy told that upcoming Sri Lanka and DPL resuming were the main talking points of their online meeting between the player and CWAB.
“The BCB will ensure the safety and the security of the players before taking the final decision on tour of Sri Lanka in line with the directive of the Bangladesh Government,” CWAB said in a statement after the discussion.
“We should keep everything in observation including the Dhaka Premier League in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country. Once the situation improves, then we can make a decision on that. At this moment, players’ safety is very important,” it also said.
