Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo said the Bangladesh national cricketers need to open up about mental health issues for their betterment.
In Bangladesh culture, people do not give much importance to mental health as the people in this part of the region considered it as a taboo.

England’s Marcus Trescothick and Australia’s Glenn Maxwell have openly admitted to having problems with mental health issues, the same does not happen in Bangladesh.
When Domingo was contacted by a leading cricket website to provide his opinion in this regard he said cricketers need to be honest and open minded while talking about mental health.
“Regarding mental fatigue I think it’s something players need to be honest and open about,” Russell Domingo said.
“Not all players will be comfortable to talk about those aspects, but we want to create an environment where in our team, our players can openly talk about how they are feeling and whether they need a break, and whether it’s mental or physical, we have got to respect that because it’s an important aspect to the game,” Doming told the web-portal.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) hired a Bangladesh-born Canadian sports psychologist Ali Khan many after an appointment of Indian Bengali psychologist. Ali Azhar Khan has worked with the national cricketers about mental health issues on two occasions.
