With his big-hitting prowess Dhaka Dynamites opener Hazratullah Zazai is now quite a sensation in the ongoing BPL. Two six-filled knocks, a 42 ball-78 against Rajshahi Kings and then a 36 ball-57 in Tuesday’s game against Khulna Titan, made the Afghanistan recruit a hero, amid a bunch of BPL overseas players, who were way ahead him in terms of stardom.

In those two innings, Zazai had already hit 12 sixes. Zazai first shot into the limelight in Afghanistan Premier League (APL) where he first justified his six-hitter tag. Still there was no guarantee that he could make in first XI straightway in the star-studded batting line up of Dhaka Dynamites.

To his delight, he saw his name in the first XI in first match, something which excited so much. In Zazai’s admission, the confidence emanated from the belief that the coach Khaled Mahmudu Sujon put on him.

“I didn’t think that I will play the first match,” Zazai told the reporters on Tuesday. “Then the coach told you will play in the first match and that time I became really excited. The team includes Bell, Pollard, Russell and Narine and when I heard about my playing that time I became so happy.”

 Zazai decided to pay off and he continued paying off such way that the opponents found them in wanting.

“Today was a different day and the wicket was lot good for batting. It was just little bit difficult. So I just managed,” he said.

Zazai s fan of Chris Gayle but said he never copied him as he believed to play his own brand of cricket.

“I just like him. I don’t copy his shots. I just play for myself. It gives me more confidence.”

“Every tournament I went to play APL, T10 - I just tried to make it count.”
