Chittagong Vikings head coach Simon Helmot said on Sunday that they need bat smarter in the upcoming days of the Bangladesh Premier League.
Chittagong Vikings fast bowler Robbie Frylinck starred in the match with four for 14 and hitting 12 not out with a lone four to the extra cover fence to ensure the team’s victory, overcoming the nerve-wrecking situation.
Chittagong eventually overhauled Rangpur’s paltry 98 in 20 overs, making 101 for seven in 19.1 overs.

“Heart rate just started to stop. It was a tight match. We bowled and fielded well. I don’t think either team read the conditions well. We saw the following game. Dhaka Dynamites got 180-odd,’’ Helmut told reporters at academy premises on Sunday.
‘’Maybe we need to be a little bit smarter in how we approach the batting. Most importantly, we got a win. Sometimes you need to win ugly in these tournaments. I am really pleased how the team gelled under Mushy in a short period of time,’’ he said.
Helmot added that he is excited to see some young bloods in his team in the likes of Nayeem Hasan and co and working with them in the HP program is coming handy in detecting their talent.
“Nayeem is an exciting cricketer. He is becoming an allrounder. He is good in the field. He is a clever offspinner. He is a determined cricketer who always wants to improve,’’ said Helmot.
“I am the HP coach in Bangladesh and working with the A team. Working with young players is an exciting part of the job. I am really pleased to be working with the Ctg Vikings as well as seeing some of the youngsters,’’ he said.
