Mighty Dhaka out to destroy Rajshahi's serenity

Title aspirants Dhaka Dynamites will be keen to start their journey on winning note when they take on Rajshahi Kings in the second game of BPL.


While Dynamites have acquired the service of some of the biggest name in the T20 business Kings will certainly be a hard nut to crack considering their strength.


Dynamites have four of the best all-rounders available in  T-20  in the presence of Shakib Al Hasan, Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine and that is a clear indication of their strength.


They have also signed Hazratullah Zazai after his impressive performance in the Afghanistan Premier League in October while they also have experienced English batsman Ian Bell and the South African fast bowler Andrew Birch.

Along the way they have also picked some promising local players in the top-order batsmen Rony Talukdar and Mizanur Rahman, wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan, allrounder Shuvagata Hom, and Rubel Hossain.


‘We are a good team. We have good experienced players both locally and international. So at the end of the day, we just have to make sure we put all the experiences into good use and make sure at the end of the day we leave the field with implementing all the experiences,’’ Andre Russel told reporters ahead of the game.


For Kings lots will depend on how their skipper Mehedy Hasan cope up with the pressure as he was selected to lead the despite the presence of some big names in the squad.


Kings have bolstered their top order by including Soumya Sarkar and Mohammad Hafeez and they also have retained Zakir Hasan and Mominul Haque, who are likely to feature in their top three.


They have also roped in Ryan ten Doeschate for his batting experience while Laurie Evans, Christiaan Jonker and Seekkuge Prasanna is expected to add big hits towards the end of the innings.



Their bowling unit will be led by left-arm bowlers Mustafizur Rahman while Isuru Udana is also known to be a smart bloke when it comes to bowling in the death.


Seasoned left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny and legs pinner Qais Ahmad  along with skipper Mehedy will certainly add depth to a bowling attack.


‘I think in his own right, he[ Mehedy] is a fantastic player. He is only very young as you mentioned. But he has been doing it for a while and this is a step up for him. We got some experienced players around him that will help him. So We are looking to give him the platform to make a name for himself as a captain. And who knows going forward he might be somebody who Bangladesh might look at for future,’’ said Kings coach Lance Klussner.
