Opener Anamul Haque Bijoy remains upbeat that his side Comilla Victorians have all the components to be the champions in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), slated to begin from January 5, for the second time.

But he emphasized on playing as a unit despite the team bolstered with some of the superstar of the game like Steven Smith, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik and Tamim Iqbal.

The opener believed that there is no reason to be failed since Comilla Victorians have a friendly environment in their tent, which would help the foreign recruits to smoothly adjust them here.

“Actually it’s a very good team. It’s an experienced team with the likes of Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes and amongst the foreign players—there are the likes of Shoaib Malik, Steven Smith, Shahid Afridi. I think it’s a fantastic team and there is friendly atmosphere which is imperative for franchise league. Whatever its coach or management, everyone is very supportive. Above it’s a very organized team,” he said on Tuesday during his side Comilla Victorians’ practice session for the sixth edition of BPL at the Academy Ground of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

According to Bijoy, their fielding unit would make the difference as they are capable of saving 10/15 runs.

“I think team effort is important (to be champion). Fielding always creates a difference in T20 cricket and we have got some young players who can save at least 10/15 runs in fielding. There is the need of some experienced bowlers also. You can win a match despite a low score if you have some experienced bowlers at your disposal. I think if we can make good score, we can do well, given the experienced bowlers which got at our team.”

He stressed upon the requirements of starting well, saying that  the first four or five matches will set the tune
