BPL can be a starting point for next ICC WT20- Rhodes

Bangladesh head coach Steve Rhodes said that the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League can be a starting point to get their act together considering their preparation for the next ICC World Twenty20.
BPL, country’s lone franchise based T20 tournament, will begin on January 5 where the leading cricketers off the country get the chance to share the dressing room with some other top-graded T20 specialist during the course of the tournament.
According to Rhodes this sharing of game plan in the T20’s with their team mates who are best in the business can turn out to be helpful as it provide an opportunity to learn few tricks from them that they can use in the later part of their career.
‘’I certainly think that we need to start getting some plans together for that tournament and though it is long way off,’’ Rhodes told reporters ahead of the tournament.
‘’We have got good international itinerary and we will be playing quite a few T20I matches and so why wouldn't you look at the BPL, it has to be a starting point,’’ he said.
‘’We have played these games against the West Indies, who are the world champion but I don't think we have played our best cricket. I think it's worth looking into our T20 cricket and see whether we can formulate and build strength as we did with the ODI team,’’ he said.
The BPL will give us the platform, the avenue to people to show what they can do. I will be here watching. And they are rubbing shoulders with some very good players and they will be learning a lot,’’ he concluded.
