West Indies T20 captain Carlos Brathwaite said he saw his team getting decisions critical to them since he started playing cricket.
He also spoke how some decision went against them in ODI series and first T20 matches in this series. Brathwaite however described how decisions went against them in the series but he refrained himself from accusing anyone as a ‘Cheater’ after all those things happened.
“I went to the match referee after the second game. I didn’t think the 50/50 decisions were going in our favour. Those decisions went for Bangladesh,” Brathwaite said.

“I never ever want to accuse someone of cheating. I will stop short of that. They are professionals as well. I don’t think they would go out there to be biased or, for lack of a better word, cheat. I didn’t accuse them of cheating but I made my point clear to the match referee that every 50-50 decision in the ODI series and T20I series up to that point went against us. Traditionally we haven’t been the best cricket, whether red or white ball. But I found that every time I have been playing for the West Indies, the decisions have hampered us.”
Brathwaite also opened up about the second ODI when Bangladesh avoided the rules to keep more fielders outside of the circle.
“We did ask for the review but they said that the director didn’t have a shot of the entire field to prove three men were on the off-side and six men were on the leg-side. I wasn’t captain and didn’t want to overstep any boundaries.”
Brathwaite said he made sure that his young players didn’t feel the heat and he therefore he dealt with everything with his own.
“I think I have the respect in the players. I asked them to stay in a huddle, continue to be the unit we are. It would look bad if I am talking to the umpires and they are standing in fine leg or deep square. We stuck together.”
