Given how the dew neutralizes spinners’ being effective, Shakib Al Hasan’s five-wicket haul came as a surprise in Bangladesh’s do-or-die match against West Indies on Thursday.
Shakib’s 5-21 was his career best and he became only the second Bangladeshi bowler to take five-wicket haul in the shortest format of the cricket. By doing so, he also entered into the shortlist of bowlers who took five-for in three formats of cricket.
Left-arm spinner Elias Sunny (5-13) and fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman (5-22) are the other two Bangladeshi bowlers to take five-for in this format but Shakib achieved the feat in far more tougher condition.

However the ace all-rounder said he always loves to take the challenge which help him thrive in the tough condition always.
“Nice feeling, the first time experience is always nice,” he said. “It was the only format in which I didn’t take five wickets before this match.. so this is really nice feeling.”
He was not entirely fit however. He has still the cold fever and was slightly injured during the match but still he continued his bowling and bowled such shrewdly that he almost single-handedly clinched the game for Bangladesh.
“I love to take the challenge. I always try to contribute something for my team. If it happens it is good, otherwise it’s bad but earnest try is always there.”
“There is no fever now but there is dehydration, if it reduces, I will feel better and will go to the third match with full fitness.”
