Bangladesh opener Soumya Sarkar said on Wednesday that they were not over confident against Windies rather failed to execute them in the middle during the opening Twenty20 internationals.
Bangladeshi batsmen were blamed for being over confident in the opening game as four of their top-order batsmen failed to play according to their potential by trying to play over aggressively in the opening T20’s that they host lost by eight wickets.

Batting consultant Neil McKenzie publicly criticized the batsmen for being over confident.
‘’ We were confident but I didn’t see anyone overconfident,’’ Soumya Sarkar told reporters ahead of the series deciding second T20’s at Mirpur on Wednesday.
‘’They bowled short while we tried to hit them by running after them and it is a matter of courage. If we were out going into the back foot than you could have said that there was some fear factor involved. If we could play clever cricket by timing the ball and placing it instead of hitting them hard it would have been matter,’’ he said.
‘’Playing short balls is a matter of great courage. I am talking about whether we got out with fear. You are saying that we may have got out for the fear. If it was Test match then it will be different case. We have to score shots otherwise our scoring option will be reduced. I am saying that there is nothing to fear. We have also improved a lot. In the last few matches we didn’t get out in short balls. In our condition, we play the spinners the most and suddenly when you face a quick bowler in early stage then we face a little problem. We will have to adopt with that,’’ he said.
