A total of 140 players were presented at the auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) in Jaipur on Tuesday (December 18). 49 of the cricketers were bought directly from the auction while 11 players were bought after being re-presented.

Rajasthan Royals again broke the bank to rope in Jaydev Unadkat, making him the most expensive buy for the second successive time as the pacer bagged a deal worth INR 8.4 crores.

Varun Chakravarthy, an uncapped spinner, hit the headlines, with Kings XI Punjab buying him for the same amount that Rajasthan spent on Unadkat.

Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim went unsold in the auction along with the likes of Dale Steyn, Brendon McCullum, and Alex Hales.
