India batsman Prithvi Shaw has been ruled out of the remainder of the Test series against Australia due to an ankle injury. He has been replaced by uncapped Mayank Agarwal, who was part of the India A team during their recently concluded tour of New Zealand.
Shaw twisted his left ankle while attempting to catch a Max Bryant six at deep mid-wicket during the tour game against CA XI at the Sydney Cricket Ground on November 30. He was carried off the field and taken to a local hospital immediately and later returned to SCG on crutches.
Although the 19-year-old was likely to return for the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne, he will now miss both of the remaining two Tests.

BCCI has confirmed that Hardik Pandya has also been included in the Test squad. The all-rounder sustained a back injury during the Asia Cup in September and returned to action in Baroda’s Ranji Trophy clash on Friday (December 14).
The fourth Test of the series will be played in Sydney. India are currently leading the series 1-0.
