Despite being the incumbent champion of the T20 format and dubbed as the most dangerous side for this particular format, West Indies haven’t been in a great form. They have just won two out of 13 matches in this format this year and currently are on a five-match losing streak.
They were whitewashed in the Test series and lost the ODI series by 2-1 but still they are hoping to turn the things around, believing that T20 format won’t disappoint them.
West Indies’ batsmen however were more hapless than their bowlers, a reason of their meek surrender in both Test and T20 series. But in their T20 arsenal, they have the batsman like Evin Lewis, who on his day could ruin any bowling attack in any kind of pitch.
Lewis is also huge in the team. Even Chris Gayle many times told in interview that he saw himself in Evin Lewis and he is the player who can beat his number in T20 cricket.

With pride is at stake, Brathwaite pins hope on Lewis to bail them out.
“We think it is a plus for us. He (Lewis) is one of the better batsmen in the world. For the last 18 months or so, he has three T20I hundreds and also centuries in regional and franchise cricket all over the world,” Brathwaite said.
“He is a definite plus for any team. It is a positive to have in our side. Hopefully he will deliver some big performances which will help us win the game and the series.”
West Indies’ current form however didn’t speak volume of them but Brathwaite argued that they fought hard against India before being whitewashed in the T20 series.
“I think if you look back at the India series, yes we lost 3-0 but I think in the first and third games, we showed what West Indies cricket can bring to world cricket. The passion, belief and desire, firstly when defending a very small total and then taking the final game down to the final ball,” he pointed out.
Brathwaite however vows to play best brand of cricket ensure the series despite knowing that something technical they couldn’t control.
“We have struggled against spin throughout this tour. They want to win the series as much as we do so we don’t expect there to be anything different from the Tests and ODIs,” he said.
“The lack of dew factor will play in Bangladesh’s hands a bit more. Our pacers will not have the extra skid on the wicket. But it is not something in our control. We will turn up, play the best brand of cricket, and try to find ways to win.”
