Mashrafe Mortaza is not going the next Imran Khan, the World Cup-winning Pakistan captain who became the Prime Minister of his country a few months ago. Mashrafe, who has joined the politics just before the national election of 2018, has no intention to aim that high as Imran did.
In an interview with AFP, Mashrafe said, "To be honest, the level where Imran Khan has reached, people cannot always reach there even if they want to."

Though he has join politics, the captain of Bangladesh ODI team will continue to serve as a sportsman in the upcoming international series and the all important 2019 World Cup in England.
Alongside his successful international career, Mashrafe is looking to do more for his own region back in Narail, where he might get elected as a member of the parliament.
"My desire is to do something for sports... since I am a sportsman, my wish is limited here. I will work for my region to see if I can do something good," he said.
Mashrafe also said that he will continue playing and maintain his workload as an MP, if he gets elected, till the 2019 World Cup.
"I will decide after the last match in the World Cup regarding what to do afterward. I will come home and tell you if I am no longer playing, and if I want to review my situation, I will still let you know," Mashrafe told the reporters, after winning the ODI series against West Indies.
