Bangladesh have received an injury scare as T20I skipper Shakib al Hasan left the nets after being hit by a ball on his ankle at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (December 16). The left-hander was already having some problem in the groin since the last match while sustaining this ankle injury prompted him to leave the nets and walk straight into the dressing room.
It was not immediately known whether he is out of series or not, but BCB officials insisted they are hoping for the best.
“I believe it is not serious,” BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin told Cricfrenzy on Sunday.

“We cannot comment unless we receive the report from physio,” he said.
Sakib was named in Bangladesh's 13-man squad for the first Test against West Indies upon his return from a long-standing finger injury.
The star all-rounder was out of action since returning home midway through the Asia Cup with a swollen finger that required surgery. Earlier, there were doubts regarding his participation in the multi-team event in UAE in September. Though a number of discussions ensued between him and the BCB chief Nazmul Hasan regarding his fitness levels, he eventually decided to postpone the surgery and to play in the Asia Cup, before ending up aggravating the injury further.
Shakib was ruled out of the tournament before Bangladesh's Super Four game against Pakistan, where the Tigers won and qualified for the final match. The 31-year-old also missed the close final against India.
The surgery and rehabilitation meant he missed the home series against Zimbabwe where the hosts suffered an embarrassing defeat in the first Test before managing to draw the two-Test series.
During his time away, Shakib feared his left little finger might never heal completely, but in a massive shot in the arm for Bangladesh, he was again fit to be part of the squad.
