Mohammad Mithun and Mohammad Saifuddin have been recalled to Bangladesh’s T20I squad for the three-match series against West Indies. Both the players made their last T20I appearance against Sri Lanka earlier this year.

Mosaddek Hossain and Abu Jayed have lost their places in the squad along with Sabbir Rahman, who is currently serving a six-month international ban imposed by the BCB. They were part of the squad that defeated the Caribbean side in an away T20I series in August.

“We have included Mithun as we need a batsman down the order. There is a gap down the order so we needed to fill it with a batsman and in the recent he is having some good runs with the bat.

“We are keeping an eye on Mossadek as he just played in Emerging Cup we don’t want to rush with him.

“We opted for Saifuddin as the team management demanded for an all-rounder for an out and out pace bowler and that is the reason Abu Jayed had to make ways for Saifuddin,” chief selector Minhajul Abedin told reporters.

Shakib Al Hasan will lead the 14-man squad in the upcoming series. The opening match of the series will be held at Sylhet on December 17, while the last two matches will be take place at Dhaka on 20 and 22 December.
