Rony Talukder missed the opportunity to reach a double-ton as Ebadat Hossain and Sunzamul Islam sparked a stunning collapse in East Zone’s batting lineup on the second day of the Bangladesh Cricket League clash.
Mohmmad Ashraful resumed the innings for East Zone at their score of 354/3 from the previous day. With Ebadat breaking a 244-run stand between Ashraful and Rony by dismissing the latter for 185 runs, North Zone denied the opponents every chance to recover. The same bowler removed the next batsman, Tasamul Haque for 19 runs.
East Zone lost five wickets in the morning session and lost the remaining two in six overs after lunch.
Ashraful added 29 more runs to his score of 107 from day-one before falling to Sunzamul. The bowler completed his fifer by claiming four wickets on the second day. Sohag Gazi also bagged a wicket on the day as East Zone registered 466 runs in the first innings.
