Bangladesh pace bowler Rubel Hossain is confident that the pacers will come good in the upcoming three-match ODI series against West Indies, like the way they did in the past for the Tigers.
Spinners ruled the roost for the hosts in the two-match Test series against the Caribbean side and their dominance was such that Bangladesh opted to play without any frontline pace bowlers in the second Test.
The move was certainly a master stroke as that helped the Shakib Al Hasan-led men clinch the two-match Test series where the slow bowlers took all 40 wickets, as Mustafizur Rahman, who played the opening Test, got only four overs to bowl.

However, Rubel insisted it won’t be the same when they take on the visitors in the three-match ODI series.
He said: “Definitely we [pace bowlers] have the ability to win the ODIs and we have done in the past. I don’t think the wicket will behave the way it did in the Tests and we have the pace unit that can win matches in this conditions.
“I think spinners, for quite some time, are dictating terms in the Tests for us while the pace bowlers are not being able to do well in the format. ODI is a different format and whoever does minimal mistake on the given day turns out to be victorious.”
Rubel said that they will play the series with an intention to win the series but cannot assure whether they can win the series like they did in the recently-concluded Test series where the visitors were humbled in embarrassing manner.
“It is difficult to say whether we can beat them by 3-0 margin but we will play to win the series. All the players are looking confident as we won a good series against them recently and that will surely help us,” Rubel said.
