West Indies have named a 15-member squad for the three-match series against Bangladesh, starting from December 9.

Rovman Powell will lead the side in absence of Jason Holder, who has been ruled out of the entire tour due to an injury.

Darren Bravo and Carlos Brathwaite have returned to the team while Ashley Nurse and Obed McCoy failed to retain their spots in the ODI fold.

“With two more ODI Series before the 2019 World Cup, the Bangladesh series allows us to narrow our search for our final 15-member World Cup squad.

“In the absence of captain Jason Holder, the panel believes the team can still be competitive, especially with the return of Darren Bravo. Darren’s experience will add value to the batting, which in turn will place selection pressure for spots in the squad. The selection panel therefore takes this opportunity to wish the team much success in Bangladesh,” said chief selector Courtney Browne. 

The Caribbean side haven’t won an ODI series since whitewashing Bangladesh in 2014. They have played three ODI series this year, one of which saw them getting defeated by the Tigers in their own den in July.

The three ODIs between Bangladesh and West Indies will be played 9, 11, and 14 December. The first two ODIs will be take place in Dhaka while Sylhet will host the third clash.
