Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has come up with a clear message that he would be as die-hard in politics as he is as a player, as he intends to win the heart of the people by doing good work and serving people in best way.
The fast bowler who is the captain of Bangladesh’s ODI side, the only format he is currently playing, though didn’t utter a word about his intention to be a political icon, it looked his ultimate goal is to reach that stage.
“When I made my debut in 2001, I was not a youth icon. I have reached this position by doing my works wholeheartedly. If I get elected, I will try to do my work properly and then see what happens,” he said.

“I haven’t become an idol (in politics) yet. If I work well, it will make a good impact.”
The lanky fast bowler also came up with a reply to those who criticized his decision to contest election under ruling party Awami League banner.
“One should always possess good personality. If you support a party, then you should say it publicly. Everyone should respect their side and should have the mentality to work for the country. I have no control over those who are making comments (on me joining the ruling party).”
Of late the social media outlet was flooded with the criticism as to why Mashrafe didn’t speak on the burning issue like quota reform and others when he is willing to join politics.
Mashrafe clarified: “I have never been into politics so deeply, neither do I know much about it. My goal is very simple – to work for people, which satisfies me. If you see me as a high-level politician, which I haven’t become yet, then it would be doing unjustice to me.”
As a cricket personality, Mashrafe said he would try to do something for cricket if elected and if he has the opportunity.
“I don’t what will happen in future. I have to win the election. So, I can’t say (if I would join the BCB) until I clear this stage.”
