Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza brushed aside all the doubts as he began his preparation with a bowling stint at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday (December 4) to get himself tuned for the upcoming series.
Mashrafe is currently focusing on the upcoming three-match ODI series against West Indies. There was speculation whether he will play in the ODI series, as he is running for the upcoming parliamentary election that is scheduled to be held on December 30.

The fast bowler called an impromptu press conference on Tuesday to clear the air after he remained silent since taking the decision to contest in the upcoming election from Narail-2 constituency under Awami League’s banner.
“I don’t feel any change if you consider my mind set-up. I am taking my preparation in full rhythm. After 14 [December], I will concentrate on my election work. Before that I will fully concentrate on my game,” Mashrafe told reporters when his attention was drawn regarding his focus on cricket.
“West Indies get better as the format gets shorter. So I am expecting a good contest against them. The players are in good mental state after the Test wins and if we can use that it will benefit us,” he added.
Mashrafe is expected to lead BCB XI in the lone practice match against West Indies at BKSP on December 6.
The three-match ODI series will start on December 9 in Mirpur while the remaining two matches will be held on December 11 and 14 in Mirpur and Sylhet, respectively.
