Stuart Broad undergoes scan amid ankle fear


The Indian cricket team is in England for a full-fledged cricket series that began with a T20I series yesterday. However, the Test series that will garner most of the attention and hence England are preparing well for this particular challenge.
Star bowler Stuart Broad seems to have picked up an ankle injury while representing Nottinghamshire against Worcestershire in a County Championship match last week. Initially, Nottinghamshire coach Peter Moores eased off the injury by saying it was ‘manageable’.

However, a report in the Daily Mail suggests that Broad will undergo a third scan on his ankle to understand the extent of the injury. The pace spearhead was expected to lead England’s bowling attack against India and hence these recent reports are concerning from England’s perspective.
It is believed that he has a sore ankle, which causes trouble during the landing of his foot at the time of bowling. Though, there is still around a month left before the first test, the board and Stuart too would be keen to resolve the fear surrounding his injury soon.
The first test match will commence on August 1, at Edgbaston in Birmhingham. England are yet to announce their squad for this Test series.
