Ban vs WI: Can Bangladesh start off the series on a positive note?

The Bangladesh cricket team is touring West Indies for a two-match test series and the dimensions of this series would be interesting this time around.
Both these teams have endured contrasting pathways in world cricket over the past few years or so. West Indies, currently are positioned below Bangladesh in the ICC Test Rankings and would be keen to redeem that. They also have the home-ground factor in their advantage, and Bangladesh can expect a decent challenge from their opponents.
West Indies have developed a tendency to prepare slow pitches for their home Test Matches, and this should surely work in Bangladesh’s favor too, considering that they have the experience, caliber and better personnel to succeed in such conditions.
Team News:
Bangladesh has taken a fairly experienced side to the West Indies, with the core of the side being formed by the likes of Shakib al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and Rubel Hossain. A notable absentee would be Mustafizur Rahman, who is currently recovering from a toe injury. This would surely have a massive impact on the Bangladeshi fast-bowling department, as Rubel Hossain would have to spearhead the attack containing the likes of newcomer Abu Jayed and Kamrul Islam Rabbi. Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque, and Liton Das are the other regular names on the list, with Das taking up the responsibility of keeping behind the stumps. Shakib will lead the spin department, which also has Mehidy Hasan and Taijul Islam in it.

Jason Holder will lead West Indies, and Shannon Gabriel, along with Kemar Roach, would constitute the experience of the fast-bowling section in the squad. Kraigg Brathwaite, Shai Hope, and Roston Chase will try to avoid succumbing to the pressure of the Bangladeshi bowling lineup. Devendra Bishoo will be the main spinner for West Indies, whilst Keemo Paul will fill in the all-rounder’s slot in the playing XI.
