Sri Lanka bowler sent home for a breach of discipline

Sri Lanka have sent Jeffrey Vandersay back home from the Caribbean for breaching contractual obligations. The islanders will face West Indies in the third and final Test in Barbados, starting on Sunday (June 24).
Vandersay and three other players had visited a night club in St. Lucia after the final day's play of the drawn second Test match, Cricbuzz reported.
The legspinner was left alone in the nightclub and lost his way after the three other players returned to the hotel. His absence was reported to the police after the team management failed to locate the bowler the following morning. However, he showed up after a while and was later sent back home for disciplinary reasons following a meeting between the tour management and the officials in Sri Lanka.

The Lankan team is already in serious trouble as their captain, Dinesh Chandimal was suspended for the next Test after being found guilty of tampering with the ball during the second Test.
Chandimal, along with the head coach Chandika Hthurusingha and team manager Asanka Gurusinha, has also admitted to breaching Article 2.3.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct, a Level 3 offence, which relates to “conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game”.
The three had been charged by ICC Chief Executive after the team refused to take field at the start of day-3 of the second Test. They now await a hearing that will be conducted by ICC Judicial Commissioner Michael Beloff (QC) on July 10.
