The dream is very close to becoming a reality. After defeating Pakistan and India in successive games, Bangladesh have now beaten Thailand to have one leg in the final. A win against Malaysia in the next game will all but confirm their spot in the grandest game of the tournament.

The Tigresses roared into the field with immense pride and an innate sense of self-confidence. The dual wins against Pakistan and India helped them get their spirits uplifted.

After winning the toss and fielding first, Bangladesh bowlers choked the Thai women as they could only muster 60 runs in 20 overs and lost 8 wickets in the process. Captain Salma Khatun was the pick of the bowlers as she took two wickets and gave away only 6 runs in her four overs.

In response, it was a walk in the park for the ladies as they went on to win by 9 wickets. Both Ayesha Rahman and Nigar Sultana scored 25 runs from 28 balls, respectively.
