Bangladesh shock Pakistan with crunching win

Bangladesh have stunned Pakistan by delivering a crushing defeat to two-time Asia Cup runners-up Pakistan. The Bangladesh team were only just dismantled by Sri Lanka less than 24 hours from yesterday’s game but picked themselves up to beat Pakistan.
Bangladesh won the toss and decided to field first and it turned out to be a good decision as they stopped Pakistan to 95 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Nahida Akter was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh as she took two wickets and gave away only 23 runs in her four overs.

Salma Khatun, Fahima Khatun and Rumana Ahmed took a wicket each as only Sana Mir from Pakistan were able to get more than 20 runs to her name. She ended with 21 from 23 balls.
In response, some sensible batting from opener Shamima Sultana, Nigar Sultana and Fahima Khatun, who made 31, 31 not-out and 23 not-out respectively, took Bangladesh across the target.
With this victory, Bangladesh now find themselves at number four on the points table of the Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup.
