BCCI gives payhike to curators and officials

The BCCI have announced that the salaries of the pitch curators and match officials have been increased by double after a recommendation from former India wicketkeeper and current General Manager of cricket operations Saba Karim.
Previously, the zonal curators and assistant curators earned rupees 6 lac per annum ($8886 approx.) and 4.2 lac-per-annum ($6220 approx.) respectively, but now these figures will be doubled, in a move that was overdue for a while and is now being praised in many quarters.
The existing salaries were put in place back in 2012 and hadn’t been improved ever since. In similar terms, the remunerations for 105 umpires appointed by the BCCI hadn’t been changed from 2012 up until now as they have also been doubled.

According to the Committee of Administration, who haven’t increased the pays of selectors, it felt that it wasn’t “appropriate” to give them a hike in their salaries as those [selectors] "who're sitting at home and not rendering any services on account of the directions issued by the Hon'ble Justice Lodha Committee in January 2017".
They have also refrained from appointing a General Manager (Marketing, Communcations and Digital) since BCCI secretary Amitabh Choudhary questioned it and the whole process.
