Afghanistan have announced their 16-man squad to face Bangladesh in the upcoming T20I series in Dehradun. They have named the likes of Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Rashid Khan and Zahir Khan in their squad to face Bangladesh.

While Mujeeb and Rashid had an excellent IPL campaign for Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively, Zahir Khan has only just returned from an injury that kept him out of the Rajasthan Royals’ IPL campaign.

Zahir is a left-arm chinaman and was a part of the Afghanistan squad that reached the semi-finals of the U19 World Cup 2018. Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s squad for the Test match against India has also been named.

The Afghan selectors have gone for a youth side to take on Bangladesh as only five players from the T20I squad make it to the Test squad to face India.
