Afghanistan bowler out injured ahead of Bangladesh series

Afghanistan are set to face Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series starting from the 3rd of June. They have, however, been hit with a setback even before the series has begun as their pacer Dawlat Zadran has been ruled out from not only the Bangladesh series but also Afghanistan’s first ever Test match against India.
The pacer suffered from a knee injury during Afghanistan’s camp in India and has been advised a month-long rest by the doctors. The Afghans are yet to name their squad for their upcoming matches against India and Bangladesh but Zadran’s injury confirms that he will be out of the squad.
While Afghanistan’s spin department is their strength, Zadran is their prime fast bowler. He has taken 98 wickets from 70 ODI innings at an average of 29.73 and an economy rate of 5.35.

In T20Is, his numbers are just as good as he has taken 42 wickets from 33 matches with an average of 21.98 and an economy rate of 7.75. Losing him out to injury is a big blow for Afghanistan as they prepare themselves to play against the Tigers.
While Afghanistan might not have the experience of Bangladesh, they are currently placed above Bangladesh in T20I rankings. Afghanistan are placed at number 8 while Bangladesh linger below them at 10 in T20Is.
