BCCI give update about reported Kohli injury

Earlier today, it was reported by the Mumbai Mirror that Virat Kohli had a herniated disc that could keep him out of his county stint for Surrey. The BCCI, meanwhile, have come out with an official statement regarding the rumours.
On their official website, they claimed that Kohli had suffered a neck injury while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, unlike what had been earlier reported regarding a slipped disc.
As a result, he will miss the much-hyped county stint for Surrey and will now undergo rehab in an attempt to get fully fit for India’s tour of England. The statement also added that the medical team of BCCI are confident that he will return to full fitness prior to their tour of England.

“The Team India captain will now undergo a period of rehabilitation under the supervision of the BCCI Medical team,” a statement on BCCI’s website read.
“He will begin training and subsequently undergo a fitness test at the NCA in Bengaluru from June 15. The BCCI Medical Team is confident that Mr Kohli will regain full fitness ahead of India’s upcoming tours to Ireland and England.”
This comes as a terrible news for Surrey fans, who were in much anticipation to witness Virat Kohli representing them in the most revered first-class competition in the world.
