Virat Kohli could miss county stint with Surrey

This might come as terrible news for English fans as India captain Virat Kohli might have to sit out of the county stint with Surrey. The superstar joined Surrey on a month-long deal that would see him play in English conditions and prepare for the Test against England.
He, however, might not be able to do it as playing for Surrey could aggravate his herniated disc, which could keep him out of the tour of England. The relentless amount of cricket that he has played over the last year has inflicted him with a slipped disc and according to his doctor, a leading orthopedic surgeon from Khar hospital, he needs rest or may have to miss the England tour altogether.
Mumbai Mirror report that the dashing right-handed batsman has, according to his doctors, some damage in his spinal nerves and may have to miss some part of the England tour altogether.
He will not be needing a surgery, but according to a BCCI official, might not be able to feature for Surrey for his county stint.

“Kohli was not to feature in the historic maiden Test match against Afghanistan next month, and now with this injury, his county stint will not take off either,” the official was quoted by the Mumbai Mirror.
This news comes at a time when the India captain was preparing himself for the England series. While he may have conquered every country where he has played in, his record in England is dire.
In five Tests on English soil, he has made only 134 runs at an average of 13.4 as he couldn’t fathom the bowling of James Anderson during India’s tour of England in 2014.
As a result, he wanted to be fully prepared this time and actually preferred skipping playing a Test match for India against Afghanistan in order to play county cricket for Surrey.
But now, it might just not happen.
