New consultant to arrive in a few days – BCB president

The president of Bangladesh Cricket Board, Nazmul Hasan Papon, has stated that a new consultant will arrive in the country by the 20-21st of this month.
For a number of months, World Cup-winning former India coach Gary Kirsten has been touted to take the job of the consultant of Bangladesh and while Nazmul Hasan’s might not have named him explicitly, it could very well be the former left-handed South African batsman that he is talking about.
Nazmul Hasan also revealed that a shortlist of coaches has been drawn up by the board – as well as the consultant – and someone from that could take up the head coach position that was left vacant by the departure of Chandika Hathurusingha.

"A shortlist of coaches has been created. On the other hand, we are in the final stages of appointing a consultant to advise us on the things that would be good for us. His work has already begun. It will take him until 20-21 of May to come to Bangladesh and when that happens, we will get an expert's opinion.
"Our new consultant has also made a shortlist of coaches [for Bangladesh] as far as I know. We, however, don't know who is on his list. There is also a possibility that he could have a better coach in mind than the one that we have. In short, we have to assess the type of coach that we need in different places of the team. This work has already begun and I hope that there will be more revelations about it in 10-12 days.
Ever since Chandika Hathurusingha resigned from his post of head coach of the Bangladesh cricket team, the BCB have been extensively searching for a new leader to take over the reins.
However, they have, so far, failed in their attempts but with the World Cup beginning in just under a year’s time, BCB seem to have stepped on the gas and hasten up the process to appoint a new coach.
