Bangladesh head coach Steve Rhodes insisted that he is finding it hard to select the playing XI against West Indies for the three-match ODI’s series as everyone is going through a good form at the top-order of their batting.

Bangladesh heaved a sigh of relief as injured opener Tamim scored brilliant 107 against West Indies in the lone practice match at the BKSP to indicate that he is all set blaze in the upcoming three-match ODI series against the visitors, leaving behind his injuries.

Tamim missed the home series against Zimbabwe and the two-match Test series against West Indies due to recovering from wrist injury in the Asia Cup opener against Sri Lanka on September15.

With his place more or less confirmed at the top, national team management will be looking to get another opener and one-down from in-form Imrul Kayes, Liton Kumar Das and Soumya Sarkar.

Imrul scored two centuries and a 90 in the three-match series against Zimbabwe while Soumya, who hit a century in the practice game along with Tamim, struck a century [117] in the third ODI against Zimbabwe after being included in the last game.

Liton, who scored a blazing hundred against India, did manage to score 83 runs in the second game of the series against Zimbabwe despite failing the series opener and in the last game.

“It is going to be tough decisions for the Bangladesh team management [to pick the openers], but what a wonderful position to be in,’’ Rhodes told reporters ahead of the series.

‘’We are desperate for some depth of cricketers in Bangladesh and we are now showing that we have quite a few. Imrul got 349 runs against Zimbabwe and Tamim has come back to form. Liton Das got an 80-odd against Zimbabwe and not too long away, a hundred in the Asia Cup final,’’ he said.

‘’Soumya has got a hundred at No 3 and a hundred today[ in the practice game. So there is a healthy and a good position to be in,’’ he said

‘’I don’t know the final XI so don’t ask me,’’ he added.
