Bangladesh continue making history with seventh win in a row

The Tigresses are on fire, aren’t they? Salma Khatun’s women have now won seven T20 matches in a row. They continued their great form from the Asia Cup into their tour of Ireland as they have already won the series with a game in hand.
After winning the toss and batting first, Ireland could put up only 124 runs from their 20 overs. Cecelia Jones was the pick of the batswomen as she scored 60 runs from 47 balls.
Apart from her, only Laura Delany and Shauna Kavanagh got to double figures as they scored 20 and 15*. Among the Bangladesh bowlers, Jahanara Alam and Nahida Akter took two wickets each while Rumana Ahmed and Fahima Khatun took a wicket each.
In response, the Bangladesh batters played very smoothly as they finished the match within 19.1 overs. Shamima Sultana scored a brilliant 51 while Fargana Hoque made 36. Sanjida Islam played the perfect finisher’s role as she made 11.
She hit the winning runs to gift Bangladesh the win.
Laura Delany and Ciara Metcalfe took two wickets each while Isobel Joyce and Eimear Richardson also picked a scalp each but couldn’t stop Bangladesh from winning the T20I series in their own backyard.

This is a big achievement for the Tigresses as this is the first time that they have ever won a bilateral T20I series in their cricketing history. On top of that, they did it away from home – something that makes this even sweeter!
