Neil McKenzie could join Bangladesh - sources

It seems as though the Bangladesh Cricket Board are not yet done with making additions to the coaching department of the side. They have only just signed Steve Rhodes as the head coach of the team ahead of their tour in West Indies and are likely to add former South Africa batsman Neil McKenzie to their coaching team.
The South African could sign a deal with the BCB to become the batting coach of the Tigers. Thilan Samaraweera previously held the post which was then allotted to High-Performance Programme head coach Simon Helmot in an interim mode.
And now, according to our sources, Bangladesh could finally have someone on a full-time basis covering the role of the batting coach in the form of Neil McKenzie.

The former Protea batsman was a stalwart in the middle order for South Africa during his playing days after beginning his career as an opening batsman, an endeavour where he didn’t taste much success.
He, however, made it big in the middle order and enjoyed four peak years before being axed from the team – somewhat unfortunately, it must be added – due to his poor record against spinners.
McKenzie played in 58 Test matches for South Africa to score 3253 runs at an average of 37.39 while also scoring five centuries in the process. His ODI record was decent as well as he smashed 1688 runs from 55 innings and at an average of 37.51.
