Umar Akmal could open can of worms with fixing claims

Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal has made some sensational revelations that could put him in trouble should he not have reported them to the ICC first. According to the batsman, he was approached by a bookie during the World Cup in 2015 but refused to do their bidding.
He was apparently asked to leave alone two balls against India in exchange for $200,000.
“I had got an offer during the World Cup to leave alone two balls and they were willing to pay me $200,000 for that. It was our first match against India in the 2015 World Cup,” Umar was quoted saying by Samaa TV.

He then further added that it was the not the first time that he had faced something like that as he was also asked to sit out of matches against India but he pledged his allegiance to Pakistan and told the bookies to never approach him ever again.
“Similar offers have been made in the past as well. In the matches with India I’ve been told to make some excuse and opt out of the game for which I’d be paid but I have told those people that I am committed to Pakistan and to not approach me ever with such offers,” he continued.
If Umar Akmal didn’t report these incidents to the ICC, then he will be in big trouble because according to the anti-corruption policies of ICC, it is mandatory for a player to report to them should he be approached by bookies.
