Anju Jain talks about Bangladesh’s Asia Cup glory

For the first time in their history, Bangladesh were able to win a major trophy in cricket after beating Harmanpreet Kaur’s India in the final of the 2018 Asia Cup. It happened after their horrendous outing in South Africa, where they were washed away by the hosts.
But they resurged and conquered the tournament in which India never lost. Credit must go to the new head coach of the Tigresses, Anju Jain, as she took over the team three weeks ago and did what no other coach could ever do.
Speaking to Times of India, Jain stated that taking over the Bangladesh side was a move that happened quickly and that she was only looking to motivate them.

"Joining Bangladesh was a fast-tracked move. The team was in bad shape and I was only looking to boost their morale.”
She then stated that the team played according to the plans laid out to them by her and labeled this achievement as a “huge moment” for both herself and the team.
“This is a huge moment for the team and personally for me also. After the team returned from South Africa, I identified the areas that needed attention.
"It was a massive challenge, but I must compliment the girls as they made a genuine effort to implement every single thing that I pointed out," said Anju.
Bangladesh beat India in the final of the Asia Cup to become the only team to win the tournament after the Women in Blue, who had won this competition a record six times in a row.
