Defending champions Rangpur Riders are happy that they have got into the winning track after losing their opener in the Bangladesh Premier League.

Rider were humbled by Chittagong Vikings in the tournament opener when they were defeated by three wickets before they got into the winning ways by earning a eight run win over Khulna Titans in their second game.

Riders will take on Comilla Victorians, who defeated Sylhet Sixers in the opening game, in the second game of Bangladesh Premier League that will resume at Dhaka after a day gap at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday.

‘’To be honest you need time to adjust in such a competition and we are happy that we could do that from our second match,’’ Riders opener Mehedi Maruf told reporters ahead of their encounter against Victorians.

‘’Actually we do planning about every team and now we are working specifically with Comilla Victorians. We are having good spirit after earning the win in the second game. Everyone is confident as we did well with both bat and ball,’’ he said.

While Riders will be eyeing to keep their winning momentum, Victorians will not be ready to give away anything easily as they have won a big match too.

‘We want to take one match at a time,’’ said Victorians Mehedy head of the match.

‘’They [Riders] have won their last game so they will be confident while we are also having good confidence under our belt as we have won our first game as well. So we are expecting it to be a keenly contested match,’’ he said.

Riders heaved a sigh of relief as they have received the NOC of explosive opener Chris Gayle who was barred to taking part against Khulna Titans in BPL on Sunday.

According to BPL officials they did not allow Gayle as he failed to submit the NOC before the match though they later it was confirmed they had received it during the game against Titans.

Gayle, who arrived on Saturday morning, did not take part in the tournament opener against Chittagong Vikings.

According to franchise officials they opted to rest him as he arrived after a long plane journey but his omission from the starting line-up against Khulna Titans on Sunday raised quite a few eye brows.

Gayle was seen sitting in the dressing room and upon query it was learnt that he was he was barred from taking part against Titans in their second BPL game as he failed to submit the required NOC on time.

However, Mehedy said that they are not extremely worried with the arrival of Gayle as one good ball will be good enough to dispatch him.

‘’I think we are not worried about playing against any individual as one good ball will be good enough to remove anyone similarly if we bowled badly we will be hit by anyone,’’ said Mehedy.
