Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib expressed confidence in defending a low total against Nepal in their final group game of the T20 World Cup to secure their spot in the Super Eight.

Tanzim achieved his best career figures of 4-7 in four overs, dismissing the top order of Nepal's batting. This allowed Bangladesh to defend 106 runs, the lowest successfully defended total in a T20 World Cup match.

"We just wanted to keep things simple. We wanted to bowl in good areas and did not want to panic," Tanzim said after the match.

"We knew we could defend this score. Everybody bowled well. As a bowling attack, we bowled well and that is why we defended the score," he said.

Tanzim bowled with aggression, rattling the Nepal batters and engaging in a war of words with Nepal captain Rohit Paudel during their run chase.

"I just want to be aggressive and execute my plans. We are really excited about the Super Eight. We are very confident about it and hopefully (we can do well)," he added.
