Salaries of the Bangladesh National team cricketers

In the last year Bangladeshi cricketers’ salary didn’t increase due to various difficulties. Though the salary of covenanted cricketers haven’t increased yet during this year, but BCB has decided to add new players in their covenanted list.   In 2014, the numbers of contracted players were 12. But from this year this number has been increased to 14.   Some senior cricketers of the national team like Abdur Razzak, Rabiul Islam and Sohag Gazi’s name are going to be removed from the list. The new players who will be replaced to them are Imrul Kayes and Shafiul Islam. Spinner Taizul Islam, Arafat Sunny and simmer Al Amin are the young cricketers in the list.   According to the contract of BCB, Taizul Islam, Al Amin and Arafat Sunny will be included in the ‘D’ category. The players of this category will get 60 thousand taka each. On the other hand Imrul, Rubel, Nasir and Shafiul will be included in the ‘B’ category and the salary of this category is 1 lack 20 thousand taka.   Mominul and Enamul Bijoy will be included in the ‘C’ category where the salary of these players is 90 thousand taka. Since Abdur Razzak is out of the list, Mahmudullah will be replaced to him. BCB has decided to include him in the ‘A’ category because of his recent performance. In this category the salary will be 1 lack 70 thousand taka.   In the BCB’s A+ category, four cricketers will be included. They are-the captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, the one day vice captain Sakib Al Hasan, test captain Mushfiqur Rahim and test vice captain Tamim Iqbal. They will get 2 lack each.   Moreover, extra 20 thousand taka will get by the captain as his duty while the vice captain will get 10000 taka. The BCB’s chief executive officer Nizam Uddin Choudhury informed that, BCB will decide in a board meeting whether the salary of the cricketers will increase or not.
