The reigning T20I champions West Indies are set to play in a fundraising match against the Rest of the World XI in a bid to raise money for restoration efforts after parts of the Caribbean were hit by Hurricanes Irna and Maria ON September 2017.

The sole T20I match is set to take place at the Lord’s on May 30th and will get international recognition. The proceeds will mainly go in refurbishing the hurricane-struck grounds in Dominica and Anguilla. Sky Sports will broadcast the match.

"To have two category 5 hurricanes in the space of two weeks was unprecedented and everyone around the world was shocked by the destruction which was caused," Colin Graves, the ECB chairman, was quoted saying on Cricinfo.

"The ECB and CWI have always enjoyed a fantastic relationship and we are keen to support them and the people of the Caribbean in this fundraising initiative."

"Hurricanes Irma and Maria have devastated parts of the Eastern Caribbean and we have been considering how CWI can best show support for our region in the most impactful way," CWI president Dave Cameron said.
