Tamim to undergo Scan, in doubt for the 1st Test

Tamim Iqbal, the Bangladesh opening batsman, was forced to retire hurt with a thigh muscle injury after facing just 13 balls on the first day of his team’s three-day match against a South African Invitation XI at Willowmoore Park on Thursday (September 21). As a result, he was scheduled to have a scan to determine the extent of that thigh injury. The decision was made by the team management on Thursday night. According to Cricbuzz, A Bangladesh media liaison has confirmed them that they expect to receive the results from the scan "in the next 24 hours". The injury came as a shock to everyone and it can put Tamim in doubt for the first Test against South Africa too which will be started from next Thursday in Potchefstroom. Bangladesh are already without leading all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who is being rested from the two-Test series against South Africa.
