Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced 14 men squad on Saturday for the first test match against Australia which is scheduled to start on 27th August. Two experienced cricketer from Bangladesh side Mahmudullah Riyad and Mominul Haque are not being selected for the match. However, they will play the warm up match which will be held on 22nd August. Chief selector of BCB Minhajul Abedin Nannu said, 'It was expected that Mahmudullah would not be in the squad because he was not in a good form in the last test match against Sri Lanka', Nannu said after announcing the squad. According to Nannu Mominul is not in a good form as well recently and his batting average has declined than before. 'Mominul also missed the last Test match. In addition, the recent statistics of Mominul indicate that he is not in good form right now,' Nannu explained. 'He scored just one fifty in the last six innings since January. Yet, he is in our plan for the future. (But) at the moment, we are preferring Imrul Kayes and Soumya Sarkar more in his position', he added.
