Who would’ve expected this, England now hold the record of highest total in One Day International. Nobody thought that this match would go this far after the fall of Roy’s wicket. But the way Alex Hales and Joe Root turned things down for England was mesmerizing to watch. England scored 400 runs within 47th over and then it took only 20 balls to reach to the world record. The foundation was laid by opener Alex Hales and Joe Root. This pair put up a partnership of 248 runs. Alex Hales scored 171 runs from only 122 balls; striking 22 boundaries and 4 sixes. On the other hand his partner Joe Root played a handsome innings of 85 runs from 86 balls with 8 boundaries beside his name. The finishing touch was given by Jos Buttler and skipper Eoin Morgan. Jos Buttler scored his fifty from only 22 balls which made him the fastest English batsman to reach to fifty. Eoin Morgan took 24 balls reaching to his fifty.
