Longest Six Of The World By Shahid Afridi

Published Date: 16 Aug 2016 | Update : 16 Aug 2016
There has always been a doubt and debate about the biggest six ever hit by any batsman. Now this something really hard to calculate. In all the international games covered on TV, there have been thousands of sixes seen. Coming to Shahid Afridi, the former Pakistan T20 skipper he once cleared the stadium in Johannesburg and as per cricket fans, this was his biggest six he ever hit. If we look at this shot there is hardly any doubt about how big or huge it was. Afridi gave it everything and the ball went out of the stadium. South African paceman Ryan McLaren was the bowler here. this was an ODI game played between Pakistan and South Africa. in that over Afridi already have collected some good number of runs. Fortunately, he was bowled out on a no ball as well. McLaren hit the defenses of Afridi and took them down with a low full toss outside the off stump. Afridi wanted to hit the ball on the off side but he did not get the ball right where he wanted. It hit the lower end of his bat and the ball sneaked into his stumps. Afridi started walking back to the dig out and was only stopped by the umpires. The no ball was checked and it turned out to be a big one from Ryan. As a result, Afridi not only came back to bat but also had a free hit to bat against. Afridi was given a nice juicy ball which was right in his arc and Afridi just gathered all the force in his body and smacked the ball from the middle. It cleared everything, hit the rooftop and went over the other side. Mike Haysman called it a six which should not be given only six runs for it. there should have been more runs given to Afridi for this.
