Former Skipper of Bangladesh Cricket team, Khaled Masud Pilot thinks lack of positiveness in the approach has affected batsmen’s performance and thus they couldn’t make big partnerships against South Africa. Meanwhile, he has also talked about the reasons for Bangladesh’s disappointing performance in the Test series.
While talking to Somoy TV on Monday, Khaled Masud said, “Our players need to be mentally strong which will help them in tough situations. Moreover, BCB should have long-term plans to make our pacers physically and mentally fit for the overseas condition.”
Bangladesh have lost both the Tests with huge margins and the results were not acceptable at all. Khaled Masud thinks such performance from a team who can beat teams like England, Australia and Sri Lanka can’t be accepted normally.
Khaled Masud said, “There are so many things in the backstage. Shakib was not there and Tamim couldn’t play in the 2nd Test due to injury. Tigers missed them the most. I am surprised with this broken team.”
He added, “The bowlers should be blamed for the losses. They have legendary Windies bolwer Courtney Walsh as their bowling coach. Talented bowlers like Mustafiz, Rubel and Taskin literally failed against the Proteas.”
Pilot concluded, “But Bangladesh will definitely come back in the ODI series. They will write a new story of coming back from the worst position.”
